Christmas Markets in Munich

Munich's Christmas markets are guaranteed to get you in the festive mood. As day becomes night at the Christmas markets, delicious aromas of hot wine punch and spicy gingerbread float through the air. Munich's Christmas markets start at the end of November and finish on Christmas Eve. At first, Tollwood Winterfestival opens on 24th November. If you are looking for unusual gift ideas, handmade items or traditional Christmas decorations, then the Christmas markets are the perfect place.

Why not visit Munich in winter?
Soon comes winter in Munich and this is really a good news. Winter ist the best time to discover the English Garden, for example, one of the biggest parks in Europe. Because there are neither many people nor many bicycles which disturb the peace. On a sunny day you can visit the beer garden "Seehaus" at the Kleinhesseloher See, drink a beer, breathe the fresh winter air and watch animals. Later on you can walk to Münchner Freiheit, the center of Schwabing, and walk along the Leopoldstr. which has many shops, coffee bars and restaurants.

Soon you will pass the Ludwig-Maximilians-University which has a long history, for example, The White Rose. Take a look inside the main building of the University - it's open for the public. After that, you can continue the walk along Ludwigstr. and soon you will get to Odeonsplatz and the historic city center of Munich.
